Marie Pontini

"My Edge 3 Stretto is much more than a power wheelchair for me, it is a tool that allows me to stay true to who I am and how I want to present myself to the world, despite the limitations that my disability presents"

Marie Pontini: Staying Empowered to Fully Enjoy Life

Marie, from Quebec, Canada, is a 43-year-old who was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in February 2016 and later with Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome in 2017. Since 2019, her health condition has been rapidly deteriorating.
In 2017, Marie discovered a passion for bodybuilding and made the decision to participate in competitions in 2018 to combat the extreme neuropathic pain she experiences daily. She views bodybuilding as a source of empowerment, often expressing that she opts for the pain of the gym to combat the pain her body endures.
Alongside her dedication to bodybuilding, Marie has a love for fashion and high heels, finding them to be her expressive outlets. Fashion serves as a welcome distraction from the ongoing challenges posed by her condition.
Despite the adversities brought about by her condition, Marie has found a profound connection with her true self and has discovered a genuine sense of happiness, which she eagerly shares with others. She finds fulfillment in assisting others on their journeys toward empowerment.
A year after being diagnosed with MS, Marie began using her Quantum Rehab Canada power wheelchair. She sees this change as a major step toward freedom, as it helps her maintain independence while staying true to herself.
Marie takes great pride in her Edge 3 Stretto Quantum Rehab wheelchair, finding immense satisfaction in its sleek design and advanced technological features, despite the ongoing challenges posed by her disabilities. To her, it is more than just a mobility aid; it is a tool that enables her to remain authentic and present herself to the world as she desires, notwithstanding the limitations imposed by her disability.
