Quantum Rehab

Fulfilling Friendships, Stretto

by Marie Pontini

My Stretto Edge3 Quantum Rehab power wheelchair has become my key to independence.

It allows me to be independent, to manage my personal care, and to accomplish tasks at home on my own. Its compact design makes it incredibly convenient and easy to use around the house.

With my Stretto, I can do the basics, like grocery shopping and small errands, things I couldn’t imagine doing for so long. I used to feel confined by pain and exhaustion, which held me back from these everyday activities. Now, I truly appreciate the difference it makes.

One incredible aspect I sometimes overlook is the social life my Stretto opens up for me.

I can go on long rides by the river with friends who also use mobility aids or bikes. I can visit my local coffee shop and chat with neighbours. I meet people on my train and bus trips, go shopping with my girlfriends, and even drop by friends’ houses with ease.

These outings, which had once felt like burdens, have transformed into enjoyable experiences. Pain and fatigue used to drain all the joy from these moments, making any social activity feel like an ordeal I couldn’t bear. My friendships suffered, and I became increasingly isolated.

Now, with my Stretto, not only can I travel further, but I can conserve my energy so I can fully enjoy my time with friends. These moments feel precious and fulfilling again. And, best of all, I rarely have to cancel plans anymore.

I’m deeply grateful for the social freedom my Stretto Edge3 Quantum Rehab power wheelchair provides. It’s remarkable to think that I once saw a power wheelchair as a symbol of decline. In reality, it’s given me my life back.
